This series of bowls are all made from a monkey puzzle tree (araucaria auracana) that once grew in West End in Esher, Surrey, England. It fell victem to storms in Christmas of 2000 and in these pieces it re-lives. All these pieces have been turned from the whole trunk and take advantage of a little dimple that is found in the trunk above each branch. The rim turns up to give the crenalations that make these bowls so ditinctive. | |
